Interview:

I feel that music and spirituality are one in the same. The same song can stir different emotions from different people, depending on where that person is in their life, and what they need to hear. The way music can make people move almost subconsciously tells you that it reaches somewhere deep inside. Music has always been a part of our existence and for a good reason; music is mood-altering and life-changing. I will hear people tell me that a certain song has given them the courage to face something they were threatened by, or that hearing a song has brought them back to a different time in their life.

More than any of our senses, what we hear and feel through music can transport us to a different time or memory. It is mindblowing to just sit back and think about the power of music. I think that musicians and songwriters dig deep within themselves and their life experiences when they write. It is through these works that they leave a piece of themselves. If you watch some really talented musicians closely you can see them listening to the music inside their mind. I know that when I am doing day-to-day things songs will 114 flow in and out of my head. There have been many times when I will awake from a sleep to scribble on a pad of paper so as not to lose what came to me. Music has always been a part of my life. If I had to give up anything in life to survive, I could never give up music. Music is a part of who I am and who I will become in the future.
