DR. BYRON ALMÉN is an author, music theorist, pianist, organist, and Associate Professor from Austin, Texas. His book "Approaches To Meaning In Music" (2006), co-edited with Edward Pearsall, and "A Theory of Musical Narrative" (2008) are both available from Indiana University Press. He has published in Journal of Music Theory, Journal of the American Musicological Society, Theory & Practice, Theoria, and Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, among many others. Byron Almén is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the School of Music and College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. JUAN G. ROEDERER is an author, educator, Professor of Physics Emeritus from the Geophysical Institute at University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska. His book "The Physics And Psychophysics Of Music: An Introduction" (2008) is available from Springer Publishing. Juan G. Roederer is a member of the Third World Academy of Sciences and of the Academies of Science of Austria and Argentina, as well as a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
