Interview:

Spirituality is the essence of music as a form of artistic expression. The musician’s soul is listenable in notes and harmonies, releasing feelings and thoughts in the form of songs. It is hard to describe but when I start song-writing, I have this certain feeling between my heart and stomach that makes me take the guitar and play. There is no rational thinking; I just let it flow and describe my inner self musically. This first step can cause a domino effect where the band mates get inspired, add their ways of expression, and in the end we have a song that reaches many people who listen to it. In fact you can describe those listeners as soul-mates because the music is the link between all those individuals.

If you compare music to any religion you will find some similar proceedings. The overall aim is to find your spiritual center in expressing yourself. Meditation and praying are means of concentration and fixation to find inner peace and release feelings that cause pain and depression. Music is the way to transform negative energy into something inspiring, powerful, and positive. This phenomena is what I would call “spiritual”. Music is more powerful than words because it reaches people far beyond their mind and into their subconscious.

“Music is the way to transform negative energy into something inspiring, powerful, and positive.”
