Interview:

Art and music are both an “act of giving” linked with generosity, love, and forgiveness. You can only forgive when you are able to give something. This gift that we get from some artists, can be conscious, but most of the time it is unconscious. This helps to explain why you can have differences between the art and the person who gives art, the artist. To me, “giving art” is an unconscious process, and to “forgive” is an inner way to be conscious.

The “act of giving” provides communication between us. A massive part of the audience who are not artists, participate the same way by communicating with the artists, and sharing art with other people. This is why art has a common value; it doesn’t belong to anyone but the universe. Artists are just translators for this common value.

When I started to compose music, it was an answer to myself, an urgent feeling like “this has to get out of me.” When I started to share my film music with others on a larger scale, I discovered that I was a part of something bigger. I discovered that my unconscious mind was doing the first step, and then my conscious mind was doing the next step for the technical work, putting things together to “materialize” the score.

I’ve experienced this for a long time, positively changing my values. My travels have also impacted my values. Meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and civilizations have all changed my perspective. I would say that art on its own is not enough; you need to share it with others.

“Art has a common value; it doesn’t belong to anyone but the universe.”
