Interview:

Music has served man from the beginning of time, and it will keep its strong place in the future. The instruments and variations of music have changed, and a lot of new musical views and styles have been birthed, but the significance has remained the same: we play and listen to music to entertain, and to affect the feelings of living beings. Music comforts, makes you stronger, sad, happy, angry and even heals. Music has played during wars and during times of peace. Music is involved in every major ceremony and party in many cultures, and music is even played for flowers and plants to make them grow better. Music is a magical thing which affects our moods and feelings. Even if you are totally “un-musical” or don’t have any sense of rhythm or melody, you can still enjoy music like everyone else. For many people, and myself included, music is something which controls a huge part of your everyday life. It is something that keeps you going and it is a perfect way to express yourself. If there is a soul, then music is the way to “feed” it, and in a way this keeps me alive. Without music, I would not be the person I am now.

“For many people, and myself included, music is something which controls a huge part of your everyday life.”
– Jyri Vahvanen, guitarist in Battlelore
